Professional Background

My remote career began in Chiang Mai, Thailand, when I was broke, alone, and had no idea what was coming next. I took a chance and posted in a Facebook group asking if anyone had work and a large travel blog hired me as a full-time in-house writer.

Sometimes you need to put yourself out there. The best advice I’ve ever received is, “Closed mouths never get fed.”

After pumping out 200+ travel related articles and learning an immense amount from the website owners (my first true mentors), I switched gears to running one of the top men’s fashion blogs in the world. Being at the top of the pecking order gave me an in depth look at what goes into running a massive website. I learned the ins and outs of hiring teams, designing content strategies, and building scalable processes while continuing to grow my knowledge of SEO and people management.

However, I yearned for something more and leaped into the freelance world in 2021. Since then, I have worked on a huge collection of projects with both old and new clients. Beyond writing, I leaned into keyword research and discovered a passion for creating topical maps, analyzing content strategies, and delving into site architecture. More recently, I have taken my WordPress knowledge and dipped my toes into the world of website development.

Today, I help small and medium-sized businesses increase their organic search presence by building websites, content strategies, and documentation to assist in hiring, maintaining, and running an editorial team. But I haven’t forgotten my roots. I’m always eager to write a blog post, especially related to travel.
