Shopping in Le Marais, Paris: 50+ Stores And Local Recommendations

You can always find people shopping in Le Marais, and as someone who lives in Paris, it really is the first place I go when I need anything from clothes to gifts to home goods and beyond. If you’re visiting Paris or a local just looking to discover cool places, I’ve compiled a mega list of all of the best shopping in Le Marais. Almost all of these stores I came across organically while walking around. And considering Confessions of a Shopaholic is practically my life, I like to think I know a thing or two about treating yourself.

Here’s everywhere to shop in Le Marais by category, plus tips for your day out, a map of the stores, and even a few things to do at the end that don’t involve spending your life savings on your trip to Paris.

Map of the Best Stores in Le Marais

My Top Recommendations for Shopping in Le Marais

Noomi Creative Market — Probably my favorite place to shop in Le Marais for gifts. You can create personalized charm bracelets, necklaces, key chains, and the cutest embroidered pouches. It’s down the street from viral La Perlerie 22, but bigger, with a better selection and less people.
Address: 96 Rue du Temple

Citizen Concept Store — I love this little vintage store by the Picasso Museum. It’s full of luxury finds with a fair price point and a super nice owner who, if you’re lucky, will show you the real treasures.
Address: 8 Rue du Roi Doré

Jimmy Fairly — French eyewear, super chic, kind of expensive but very worth it, with tons of trendy and classic styles in lots of colors. I bought my first pair of “big girl” sunglasses here, and they’re my favorite pair ever. They have two shops in Le Marais, one on Rue Vieille du Temple, and one on Rue de Bretagne.
Address: 64 Rue Vieille du Temple and 3 Rue de Bretagne

Jonak — This Parisian footwear brand is well loved by local women, with French sophistication and modern silhouettes. The leather is gorgeous, and they make an affordable dupe for the two toned Chanel flats. Some of the best shopping in Le Marais Paris if you’re looking for shoes.
Address: 22 Rue des Francs Bourgeois

Drôle de Monsieur — You might have seen people walking around in apparel decked out with the saying “Not From Paris Madame.” This is where to get it.
Address: 28 Rue de Poitou

Topologie — Born out of rock climbing gear, this French brand makes bags, accessories, and innovative phone cases with crossbody cords rocked by almost everyone in Paris (best way to keep a pickpocket from snagging your phone). The flagship store is on Rue du Temple in Le Marais.
Address: 119 Rue du Temple

Sabre  — Outrageously gorgeous, completely customizable cutlery by a Parisian brand. There are dozens of colors and patterns to choose from, and lots beyond just standard silverware. When you sit down for a meal at home, you can think of your trip to Paris.
Address: 39 Rue de Poitou

Le Labo — There are Le Labos all over the world, but the Vanilla 44 scent is only available at the Paris boutiques. If you want to add one of these exclusive fragrances to your collection, there’s a store in Le Marais.
Address: 7 Rue Froissart

Concept Stores in Le Marais

Fleux — This concept store is a fan favorite and where I immediately make a beeline for while shopping in Le Marais. It’s actually four different stores on the same block with everything from home goods to accessories, gifts, art, truly everything you can imagine. The prices are super reasonable, and the selection is seasonal so there’s always something new.
Address: 39 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie

Nature et Découvertes — I’m obsessed with this French chain, it’s kind of like REI but more funky. It’s spread on multiple levels with lots for travel, gardening, wellness, and tons of gadgets. I always go here for gifts or just to poke around when I’m shopping in Le Marais.
Address: 20 bis Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie

Empreintes — I randomly stumbled into this multi-level boutique and was amazed at all the hand crafted art there was for sale. It’s worth the stop if you’re shopping in Le Marais, even for a quick browse.
Address: 5 Rue de Picardie

Merci — Ahh, famous Merci. Overpriced but overflowing with everything beyond your wildest dreams. Clothes, accessories, home goods, stationery, skincare, decor, gifts… The list is endless, and so is their selection.
Address: 111 Bd Beaumarchais

Dover Street Market — Filled to the brim with unique pieces from the top designers around the world. DSM isn’t unique to Paris, but the shop in Le Marais is stunning and flocked to by the city’s most stylish.
Address: 35-37 Rue des Francs Bourgeois

Clothing, Footwear, & Bags

Sézane — Sézane is the quintessential French It Girl brand, and there’s a store in Le Marais if you want to stock up while in town. It kind of reminds me of Madewell with cute sweaters, coats, nice tops, and jeans that actually fit well.
Address: 33 Rue des Blancs Manteaux

Maje — Another French It Girl brand, but maybe lesser known. Maje is a bit more playful than Sézane and has two locations in Le Marais, one on Rue Vieille du Temple and one on Francs Bourgeois. Their summer clothes are to die for.
Address: 49 Rue Vieille du Temple

Rouje — One more go to French brand with nice patterns, cute dresses, and easy closet staples that will help you blend in with the stylish Paris crowd.
Address: 16 Rue de Turenne

Simple Rainbow — This ballet flat brand just opened a super aesthetic store in Le Marais, with an endless amount of colors at €150 per pair. I saw an influencer mention they’re more comfortable than Repettos, so I might just walk over and test out a pair…
Address: 21 Rue Pastourelle

Repetto — Or stick with the tried and true and visit the Repetto shop in Le Marais for the most classic pair of ballet flats to ever exist. They have lots of styles and colors to choose from, all variants of their very traditional flats.
Address: 51 Rue des Francs Bourgeois

Lancaster — This Parisian brand makes contemporary leather bags, perfect for everyday use or a night out. They’re a luxury brand with quality craftsmanship, and are a really solid alternative to a designer bag at a more reasonable price point, ranging from €150 to around €350.
Address: 12 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie

RSVP — On the topic of bags, this is another Paris brand making must-have purses. But the catch is they only make a limited number of each style, so once it’s gone, it’s gone. If you’re looking for souvenirs while shopping in Le Marais, I’d stop by here and see if anything catches your eye while it’s still available.
Address: 8 Rue Saint-Claude

Vintage Shopping in Le Marais

Tallon Vintage — This is undoubtedly the best place to find vintage designer shoes and bags while shopping in Le Marais. It’s incredibly well curated and way less overwhelming than secondhand stores packed to the brim with goods. This place has Carrie Bradshaw written all over it.
Address: 18 Rue Charlot

Free’P’Star — Alibaba’s Cave of thrift stores in Paris. There are several locations, so you’ll probably come across a few while shopping in Le Marais. Be prepared to dig, and know that it can be pretty overstimulating with loud music and weird lights sometimes. But all of the Free’Ps are very cheap. Some have a better selection than others.
Address: 61 Rue de la Verrerie

La Boutique de Cara — If you’re tired of the snobby girls who rule the vintage scene in Le Marais, I’d go to this spot, which has a wide selection of luxury vintage at a fair price. I fell in love with a navy Prada bag here… Still thinking about it.
Address: 80 Rue de Turenne

Bobby — Reins supreme for curated vintage, but at a cost. If you’re prepared to pay, Bobby has the best of the best, and it’s a big store, so give yourself some time while shopping in Le Marais to at least have a good look.
Address: 168 Rue du Temple

Check It Vintage Burberry — If you’re specifically looking for a Burberry trench, I’d go here rather than trying your luck at the fleas or random vintage shops. That said, I still haven’t found one small enough that I like, so do with that what you will.
Address: 67 Rue du Temple

Bozar — Cool retro shop with solid vintage selection. It’s little and packed but still curated with plenty of treasures to find.
Address: 35 Rue de Montmorency

Addicted — This is a fun vintage store for the girls with a cooler selection than a lot of other shops with a similar vibe. I find it way less stark than the “cool girl” secondhand spots in Le Marais, but just as on trend with lots of accessories.
Address: 29 Rue du Temple

Rêve de Gosse — If you’re tired of the same vintage stores, this place is brimming with old school workwear and period pieces instead of overpriced BCBG. Visiting here is kind of like stepping back in time, so don’t miss it while shopping in Le Marais.
Address: 18 Rue de Picardie

Brand Name Shopping in Le Marais

Vans — The Vans store in Le Marais has an interesting design and cool Paris-only merch. The last time I popped by, they also had a decent selection of vinyls for sale, and the people who work there are always nice.
Address: 14 Rue du Temple

Carhartt WIP — If you’re into streetwear, you might want to swing through here, though there’s often a line. There are also streetwear brands on the same block, like Stussy and Edwin, if you want to check a few off your list.
Address: 57 Rue du Temple

Aesop — The Aesop store in Le Marais has a beautiful design, and of course, the products are nice too.
Address: 133 Rue Vieille du Temple

Souvenirs & Gift Shops in Le Marais

Address: 11 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie

Officine Universelle Buly 1803 — This perfume store always has a big line because it went viral for the lip balms and combs customizable with your initials. Despite the inevitable queue, it’s honestly a nice souvenir or gift from Paris, and the store is also stunning with an old world feel.
Address: 19 Rue Vieille du Temple

Bows & Arrows — Japanese gift shop with a really nice range. There’s a lot for the kitchen and a solid selection of condiments you can find elsewhere, plus accessories, stationery, and home decor.
Address: 17 Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth

Books & Stationery Stores in Le Marais

Louise Carmen — These viral leather notebooks are worth the splurge, and you can personalize them to your heart’s content. I got my first when I moved to Paris in 2023 and another for my birthday a couple of years ago. I can confidently say they are some of my prized possessions. Disclaimer: they’re technically just outside of the Marais, but only by a couple of minutes on foot if you’ve had your eye on one and want to see them in person.
Address: 6 Pass. du Grand Cerf

Centrale Librairie — There’s truly no better place in Paris to find poetry books, and if you’re shopping in Le Marais, you should swing through for a browse. The space is aesthetically pleasing, and the selection is curated by a French poetry expert (if you’re reading this, hi Francois!).
Address: 161 Rue Saint-Martin

L’Ecritoire — I’m in love with this stationery store. It’s packed with lots of old school goodies like wax seals, feather quills, and an extensive paint selection, plus all the paper goods you can imagine.
Address: 26 Pass. Molière

Ofr — All the cool kids hang out at Ofr when shopping in Le Marais. Swing through to browse a nicely curated selection of art and architecture magazines, with a big alternative focus.
Address: 20 Rue Dupetit-Thouars

Papier Tigre — A great affordable stationery shop with a huge collection. They have everything from planners to coloring books.
Address: 5 Rue des Filles du Calvaire

Librairie des Archives — This bookstore is overflowing with rare art books in a super cool space. If you’re shopping in Le Marais and need a little break, pop in here and sit down with a book for a while; you may never want to leave.
Address: 4 Rue de Thorigny

Les Cahiers de Colette — This cozy bookstore in Le Marais is well loved for its extensive selection and staff recommendations. They don’t have a ton in terms of English books (visit The Abbey in the 5th if that’s what you’re after), but it’s a standout place to pick up French literature or learn about local writers if you’re in the area.

Home Good Stores in Le Marais

Loveramics — This Instagrammable boutique is the ideal stop if you’re shopping in Le Marais for home goods. The walls are lined with colorful dishes, with everything you need for a vibrant kitchen set. It’s affordable for the quality, and when people compliment your plates at dinner, you can say, “Thanks, I got them in Paris!”
Address: 30 Rue des Blancs Manteaux

Beyond — This is the best place to find interesting home goods. The selection is mixed between new and vintage, and whoever’s curating the store has a serious eye for design. There are lots of little mirrors, art prints, and decorations that will make your home feel a bit more like Paris when you get back.
Address: 13 Rue Charlot

Dejima — Super cute artisan Japanese store with ceramics, kitchen items, and home decor. I love to pick up unique gifts here.
Address: 7 Rue des Filles du Calvaire

Maison Sato — Another awesome Japanese home good store. The owner is really nice and has an eye for curating the store with gorgeous goods.
Address: 20 Rue de Thorigny

Les Quatre Saisons – Stop by this stop in Le Marais for affordable, vintage home goods, curated to perfection. Think full plate sets, stunning utensils, and unique home decor to liven up your space. Paris has outdoor flea markets on the weekends called brocantes, but this place has the same vibe (with less junk) seven days a week.
Address: 29 Rue des Oiseaux

Food Stores in Le Marais

Eataly — You might be in Paris, but you can find a taste of Italy in Le Marais. In addition to a few eateries, Eataly has a decent sized Italian grocery store.
Address: 37 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie

Pierre Herme — Skip Laduree, the best macarons are at Pierre Herme. There are locations all over Paris, but you can also pop into one while shopping in Le Marais for a snack.
Address: 4 Rue de Bretagne

Edwart Chocolatier — Don’t know what to get the last person on your list? Want a treat to take home for later? Hit both marks at this artisan chocolate shop where your sweet tooth will have the chance to go buckwild.

More Places to Shop in Le Marais

La Maison de la Cravate – Treasure trove of block printed scarves, covers, and bags. Can’t recommend a stop here more. It’s affordable, high quality, and everything is handmade with the coolest owner, Marc.
Address: 142 Rue du Temple

Korean Cosmetics Paris — Best place to get skincare products in Le Marais if you’re looking for something beyond the pharmacy selection.
Address: 28 Rue du Bourg Tibourg

Pan – This store is on the fringe of Le Marais and has an incredible selection of curated home goods, antiques, and gifts. You can find a little bit of everything – my favorite purchases are a pigeon vase and an old school shell shaped butter dish.
Address: 56 Rue de Turbigo

Gentle Monster – This sunglasses store went viral for their display featuring giant moving heads. The shop in Le Marais is their flagship with trendy eyewear and a cool overall vibe.
Address: 132 Rue Vieille du Temple

Best Shopping Streets in Le Marais

Rue de Turenne – This is the best place to find vintage stores in Le Marais, and generally in all of Paris. These are the curated secondhand shops, with lots of trendy pieces.

Rue de Vieille du Temple  – You’ll find lots of big designers and smaller boutiques on this shopping street in Le Marais. Expect lots of people and keep your eyes out for restaurants, there’s good food on this street. Closer to Republique, Rue de Vieille du Temple turns into Rue des Filles du Calvaire, which has Japanese gift shops and other cute places to stop.

Rue du Temple – Rue du Temple is basically the heart of Le Marais. It’s a charming narrow street that cuts through the district and ends at the Paris City Hall (the Hotel de Ville). Many of the stores on Rue du Temple are reserved for wholesalers, but you’ll find bigger brands and more shops the closer you get to the Hotel de Ville.

Rue des Francs Bourgeois – This is one of the best shopping streets in Le Marais for big French brands, household names like Muji and Uniqulo, and perfume stores.

Rue de Bretagne – Home to Marche des Enfants Rouge (the oldest covered market in Paris) and lots of cute shops, restaurants, and places to pick up picnic supplies. There’s a great bookstore and bigger brands like Jimmy Fairly just past the market.

Boulevard Beaumarchais – This is the street where you’ll find Merci and tons of luxury stores. There are also plenty of camera and motorcycle shops like Harley Davidson, just a few doors down from Merci.

Rue Charlot – Rue Charlot is quieter, with lots of independent jewelry stores and a handful of great galleries that are free to pop into.

Tips for Shopping in Le Marais

  1. Most stores in Le Marais are normally open from 10 or 11 AM until around 7 or 8 PM every day, though on Sundays, many stores open later and close earlier. Some stores might also have different hours on Monday, so it’s always worth checking if you have a specific destination in mind.
  2. Every time you enter a shop, be sure to say ‘bonjour’ and when leaving, say ‘merci, au revoir.’ This is part of the French Politesse, which is essentially the etiquette that everyone lives by here. Tourists are expected to abide by it, too!
  3. On a rainy day, which there are many of in Paris, look for an umbrella stand near the entrance of shops instead of dripping your way through.
  4. Most places aren’t crazy about food and drink inside (yes, coffee included). It might even be marked by the entrance with a stand to leave your goodies while shopping.
  5. If you get hungry while shopping in Le Marais, some places to stop are:
    • Marche des Enfants Rouge (food market with lots of choices)
    • Les Philosphes (classic French bistro with a big terrace and good breakfast)
    • Cortado (the cantina has affordable snacks and there’s a full tapas bar next door)
    • La Baguette du Relais (iconic steak sandwiches with fries, best for grab and go)
    • Caractère de Cochon (classic place for a ham and cheese sandwich)
    • Nobisan (New York City style handrolls)
    • Parselles (great French food)
    • Little 7 Tea (the best onigiri in the area, super fast and affordable)
  6. And for coffee these are the places I recommend in Le Marais:
    • Recto Verso
    • Noir
    • Creme
    • Anti Public Library
    • Pontochoux Cafe
    • Boot Cafe
  7. Prepare for crowds! Tourists and locals alike flock to Le Marais for shopping. It can get packed, especially in the smaller streets, so keep your belongings secure and know that you won’t be the only ones out and about, especially on a nice day.

Things to Do in Le Marais That Aren’t Shopping

Take a Food Tour: This area has some of the best restaurants in Paris, so when you get sick of shopping in Le Marais, this guided food tour includes tastings and hidden gems!

Explore Jewish Culture: Le Marais is the historic Jewish quarter of Paris, and getting to know the history is especially compelling when you’re standing on the very streets where it happened. This walking tour has been operating for over 20 years and cannot be recommended more.

Visit a Museum: When in Le Marais, I recommend stopping by the Picasso Museum to see some of his greatest works, Musée Carnavalet, which is free and all about the history of Paris, or the National Archives Museum, with a nice hidden garden.
