The best Koh Yao Noi hotels range from jungle bungalows and beachfront villas to laid-back guesthouses, and after spending six weeks on the island, I’ve seen the lot of them. I split my trip between three different accommodations and toured dozens more, from locally run stays with hammock-strung porches to luxury retreats with sweeping sea views.

When deciding where to stay on Koh Yao Noi, it helps to know that the east coast is home to the island’s best beaches, while the west coast is quieter, more local, and lined with peaceful mangrove forests.

Whether you’re looking for something rustic, romantic, or just reliably comfortable, this guide to the best hotels in Koh Yao Noi is based entirely on first-hand experience and covers all price points.

The Best Hotels in Koh Yao Noi for Every Budget

After tons of research to find the perfect Koh Yao Noi hotels, I’ve put everything I learned into this guide to help anyone planning an island escape. I originally came for just four days and stayed at Fisherman Guesthouse, but when my friend decided to join, I needed new accommodation. So I spent a day scootering around the island, stopping at every place that looked promising and asking for a tour. I ended up seeing dozens of bungalows and hotels this way, giving me an inside look at the best places to stay on Koh Yao Noi.

Though I settled on Namtok, I feel pretty qualified to share the best hotels on Koh Yao Noi, having seen the vast majority of them. Here’s everything that I found.

Quick Note: Double check that your room has air conditioning if you need it. Many bungalows only have a fan.

1. Namtok Bungalows

Namtok bungalows one of the best hotels in Koh Yao Noi

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Tha Khao | Breakfast: No

I stayed here for over a month and loved every single second. I really believe it’s the best price to value ratio you can get from Koh Yao Noi hotels, and it feels more authentic than a lot of the other options on the island. You have a private bungalow (fan or AC) with a bathroom, porch, and hammock, surrounded by lush jungle.

Namtok is in a perfect location, right across from one of the main beaches with great restaurants around, and there are scooters to rent if you want to go further. The owners, Bang Bao and his wife, will make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. You might even see monkeys trolling around the property.

2. Hillhouse

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Tha Khao | Breakfast: Yes

Right down the street from Namtok is Hillhouse, perched overlooking the bay. The bungalows are Instagram worthy with a crazy sea view, best enjoyed watching the sunrise from bed. It’s walking distance to a lovely beach, and Koh Yao Noi Island Yoga is just down the road. It sells out quickly and often, so book this one early if you want to stay here.

3. Namm Natawn

Bungalows at Namm Natawn, one of the best places to stay in Koh Yao Noi

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Rice paddies | Breakfast: Yes

This budget-friendly gem on Koh Yao Noi offers a truly unforgettable experience: sleeping in the heart of the rice paddies. Surrounded by vibrant green fields, the bungalows at Namm Natawn are peaceful and charming, with comfy beds and terraces outfitted with big hammocks for soaking in the view. The quiet road it sits on connects the west coast to town, giving you easy (and incredibly scenic) access to all corners of the island.

Namm Natawn is a sustainable tourism operator, and staying here directly gives back to the local community.

4. Fisherman Guesthouse

Accommodation Type: Private rooms | Location: An Pao | Breakfast: No

This West Coast stay is one of the coziest and most memorable on the island. I spent a few nights here and loved falling asleep to the sound of water lapping beneath the house. The setup includes private rooms with a shared bathroom (yes, hot water) and a common living room area that overlooks the mangroves. During high tide, the house is completely surrounded by water, it’s unreal.

The guesthouse is run by the lovely Miss Angela (pictured above), a well-traveled host who’s always slicing up fruit for guests and around for a good conversation. Plus, it’s just steps from some of the best local food, set on the same pier as Pradu Seafood. Walk to the end for one of the most amazing sunset spots on the island. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough.

5. Annie Meen’s Place

A bungalow at Annie Meen's place one of the best modern hotels in Koh Yao Noi

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: South coast between Pasai Beach and town | Breakfast: Yes

Annie Meen’s property has cool modern bungalows in the most welcoming environment ever. Annie will make you feel right at home, cooking fresh breakfast in the morning, dishing out local tips, and helping with everything from scooter rentals to taxis and boat tours.

The bungalows are secluded and private, perched on a hill on the south coast between Pasai Beach and town, with epic sunset views and a handful of good restaurants within walking distance. If you like the idea of staying in a bungalow but aren’t sold on the rustic options found at most Koh Yao Noi hotels, this strikes the perfect middle ground while still at a solid mid-range price point.

6. Cha Bungalow

Cha Bungalows, one of the best places to stay in koh Yao Noi

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Tha Khao | Breakfast: Yes

These bungalows offer one of the most authentic and peaceful ways to experience local life on Koh Yao Noi. They’re owned by Cha, truly one of the kindest people you’ll meet, and owner of the best coffee stand on the island. She’ll happily help arrange scooter rentals, taxis, or boat transfers to make your stay seamless, and the bungalows themselves are spacious, spotless, and set in lush gardens, with large porches and lovely views; some even come with air conditioning.

It’s a serene island escape near Tha Khao Beach, with the option to add on a fresh cooked breakfast in the morning. You won’t want to leave.

7. Rimlay Bay View

View of the ocean from one of the best Koh Yao Noi hotels, Rimlay Bay View

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: South coast between Pasai Beach and town | Breakfast: No

Rimlay offers beautiful bungalows perfect for a mid-range budget (I toured them while looking for a place to stay before choosing Namtok). It’s a solid choice for solo travelers, couples, and families alike, especially because there are two bedroom bungalows with stunning views of the bay and warm, accommodating staff.

The location is also ideal, just a minute’s scooter ride from Pasai Beach and close to 7-Eleven. Even better, several great restaurants and an amazing cafe are within walking distance.

8. Touch Glamping

Ocean view from Koh Yao Noi glamping
Koh Yao Noi glamping on the beach, dome tents

Accommodation Type: Dome tents | Location: South coast | Breakfast: Yes

This is the best Koh Yao Noi hotel if you want pure beachfront without paying a fortune. Touch has little dome tents right on the beach of the south coast, which is not frequented by many.

When I spent a night during low season, there was absolutely no one for 99% of the time I was there, leaving the beach to me, myself, and I (with a couple of friendly doggos, of course). There’s amazing food at the cafe next door, and if you’re in for a spluge, book the tent on top with the private pool.

9. Koh Yao Bay Pavilions

Villa at one of the best places to stay in Koh Yao Noi, the Bay Pavilions
Villa with a pool at one of the best places to stay in Koh Yao Noi, the Bay Pavilions

Accommodation Type: Suites and villas | Location: South coast | Breakfast: Yes

Koh Yao Bay Pavilions is a little hotel with suites and villas directly on the south coast beach (close to Touch Glamping). This is an awesome choice if you want to have your own space in a more luxurious, private beachfront setting. The accommodation options are a modern Thai style with glossy wooden furnishings, plush bedding, and an open-air design.

The suites surround a communal pool, while the villas feature their own private pools and multiple bedrooms, making them ideal for accommodating families or groups. If you’re looking for a quieter area of the island, the beach at your doorstep is less well-known, so you’re likely to have it all to yourself during your stay.

10. Cape Kudu Hotel

View from a room at Cape Kudu Hotel, one of the best places to stay in Koh Yao Noi
View from the pool at Cape Kudu Hotel, one of the best places to stay in Koh Yao Noi

Accommodation Type: Suites and villas | Location: Between Tha Khao and Pasai Beach | Breakfast: Yes

In between Tha Khao and Pasai Beach is Cape Kudu. To me, this is the most classic beach style hotel in Koh Yao Noi, kind of like what you’d find in waspy shore towns on the East Coast. It’s spacious private rooms and villas rather than bungalows, with a great restaurant, a big pool, and sunbeds overlooking the ocean.

I’ve never stayed here, but I often worked from Cafe Kantary at the base of the property, and the hotel was always setting up lounge chairs on the beach and little pop-up bars. You can rent motorbikes on-site (options with sidecars are also available), and the property offers tours and activities for guests, making it convenient to have everything in one place. It’s not as private or glamorous as some of the Koh Yao Noi resorts, but it’s a luxurious, centrally located option for a modern island getaway.

11. Lok Mun Bungalows

Lok Mun Bungalows, one of the best hotels in Koh Yao Noi with a pool.

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Six Sense Beach between Tha Khao and Pasai Beach | Breakfast: No

I also toured Lok Mun while searching for a place to stay in Koh Yao Noi and found the property to be cute, with a friendly and accommodating owner. The bungalows are basic with no frills, but they have everything you need for a comfy stay on the island, like a terrace, hot water, and a  very good restaurant.

There’s a communal pool, which is a luxury for Koh Yao Noi hotels at this price point, and Six Sense beach is only a ten minute walk away. In addition to this property, the owner of Lok Mun has a couple of bungalows next door for long stays that you can ask about.

12. Koh Yao Noi Sabai Bungalows

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Town | Breakfast: No

The German guys who told me about Koh Yao stayed here for two weeks and said they never wanted to leave. I also met tons of interesting young people on the island who were staying here – it seems to attract a good crowd.

Not to be confused with Sabai corner Bungalows above, this is one of the best Koh Yao Noi hotels if you want a laid back, free spirited type of stay, similar to what you’d find in the northern town of Pai. There are basic, affordable bungalows with a fan and a private bathroom, located behind a reggae bar run by a super cool owner (in the selfie above, taken to send to said German guys), with lots of cozy corners to chill out in. They’re only a 15-minute walk to 7-Eleven and in kind of a funny land locked part of the island.

13. Connexion Hostel

Beds at one of the best Koh Yao Noi Hostels, Connexion Hostel

Accommodation Type: Dorms and private rooms | Location: Town | Breakfast: Yes

Koh Yao Noi has a few hostels, but this is the one I’ve heard the most about. It’s right in town next to the only 7-Eleven on the island, and walkable to some restaurants and a park with a sunset pier. Connexion has a small dorm with beds ranging from $10 to $30+, depending on the season, and a couple of private rooms with air conditioning as well.

Considering you get a fresh breakfast every morning and scooter rentals on site from the super nice owner, it’s amazing value, especially if you can snag a spot during high season.

14. Sabai Corner Bungalows

A bungalow at Sabai Corner Bungalows, one of the best hotels in Koh Yao Noi
Ocean view bungalow at Sabai Corner Bungalows, one of the best Koh Yao Noi hotels

Accommodation Type: Bungalows | Location: Pasai Beach | Breakfast: Yes

This stay is directly on Pasai Beach in one of the best locations on the island. I love the restaurant here, it’s an incredibly scenic place to eat or enjoy a drink with tables right over the water.

The bungalows are simple but very clean and well maintained with thoughtful touches. Most are lifted on stilts, featuring an ocean view that you can enjoy from the sprawling private balcony, filled with comfortable places to sit and relax. This is definitely my top choice for Koh Yao Noi hotels for local beachfront charm.

15. Samsam Andaman Magic & Art Villas

Ocean view villa in Koh Yao Noi at Samsam Andaman, one of the best Koh Yao Noi hotels
Pool area at Samsam Andaman villa, one of the best Koh Yao Noi hotels

Accommodation Type: Suites and villas | Location: South coast between Pasai Beach and town | Breakfast: Yes

This sleek stay is in the south of Koh Yao Noi, a short scooter ride to Pasai Beach and walking distance to lots of restaurants. It’s a collection of suites and chic villas overlooking the bay, where you can sit on your balcony perch to soak in a spectacular sunset every night.

Many of the villas have private pools and sea views, well equipped with everything you might need to feel at home during your time on the island. The property amenities rival those at any of the island’s best resorts, with a stunning infinity pool, fitness center, and delicious daily breakfast served with a side of ocean views.

Best Koh Yao Noi Resorts

The best Koh Yao Noi resorts are easy competition for some of the world’s best, with stunning pool villas, pristine private beaches, and staff who will wait on you hand and foot, pampering you throughout your stay. I haven’t personally stayed at these resorts, but I’ve toured several and know people who work (or have worked) at all of them, and they were kind enough to share some insights on the best Koh Yao Noi resorts. I have however been to the private beach at Treehouse Villas via kayak, and boy was it jaw dropping.

Insider Tip: Hotel prices on Koh Yao Noi can vary wildly between high and low season, sometimes by hundreds of dollars. If you’re flexible with your dates and don’t mind a little rain, visiting in low season can mean major savings. I was there during shoulder season and saw both ends of the price spectrum. When my boyfriend came to visit, some resorts were 50–70% off with my Booking.com Genius discount. Check out the screenshot below to see what I mean.

16. Koyao Island Resort

Floating breakfast at one of the best Koh Yao Noi resorts, Ko Yao Island Resort

Accommodation Type: Villas | Location: Between Tha Khao and Pasai Beach | Breakfast: Yes

This is the best Koh Yao Noi resort in my opinion because the private beach is one of the only places you can swim at low tide on the island. It’s an incredibly sleek, exclusive property made up of airy beach and safari-style pool villas overlooking the bay. There are spa services and activities available, as well as a world class restaurant.

I popped in for breakfast one day, and when filling out the order form, it asked if I wanted breakfast to be served seated or floating in the villa’s private pool. Yeah, it’s that level of luxury.

17. Six Senses Resort

Villa at Six Senses Yao Noi one of the best Koh Yao Noi resorts
Aerial view of Six Senses Yao Noi one of the best Koh Yao Noi resorts

Accommodation Type: Pool villas | Location: Between Tha Khao and Pasai Beach | Breakfast: Yes

The massive pool villas at Six Senses are insane and rival the best of Thailand with a completely secluded open-air design, outdoor bathtubs, and crazy views perched on a cliff above the bay. Six Senses has five-star resorts around the world, and this island outpost is one of the brand’s finest – in fact, it was just nominated for a World’s Best award by Travel and Leisure.

It’s definitely one of the most luxurious resorts in Koh Yao Noi, complete with a private beach (one of the best on the island), massive hilltop pool, and every amenity and activity you can imagine. And did I mention each villa comes with a butler for your stay? Any time you want to leave, you’ll be picked up at your villa and personally driven wherever you feel like going. Like I said, insane.

18. Treehouse Villas

Villa at Treehouse Villas Koh Yao Noi one of the best Koh Yao Noi resorts

Accommodation Type: Villas | Location: Paradise Beach | Breakfast: Yes

For Koh Yao Noi resorts with a wow factor, Treehouse Villas is completely jaw dropping. The real draw is the namesake treehouse villas with a double decker design and their own private pools. You’ll also find beachfront pool villas and a sprawling, modern hillside villa, each offering its own kind of paradise.

The property includes a private beach, a large shared pool with sunbeds, attentive turn-down service, and an incredible staff. Tucked away in a secluded corner of the island, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to settle into and stay a while.

19. Coastal Escape

Villa at Coastal Escape Koh Yao Noi one of the best Koh Yao Noi resorts
Aerial view of Coastal Escape Koh Yao Noi one of the best Koh Yao Noi resorts

Accommodation Type: Pool villas | Location: Between Tha Khao and Pasai Beach | Breakfast: Yes

Located on the east coast, Coastal Escape is a small property made up of a handful of private two-bedroom pool villas with ocean views from bed. It sits directly on a private stretch of Six Sense beach, meaning you’ll be away from the few tourists on the islands, and treated like total royalty by the staff who will go above and beyond to ensure you have an incredible stay. There’s a large communal pool with sunbeds in front of the water where you can enjoy a drink and soak up the sun. Coastal Escape is a great choice for families or couples who want a comfortable experience at a Koh Yao Noi resort.

Final Thoughts About Where to Stay on Koh Yao Noi

Staying in Koh Yao Noi was one of the best experiences of my life. After trying out a range of accommodations and visiting countless others, I’ve gotten a good sense of where to stay on the island.

For the most authentic experience, choose a bungalow tucked into the jungle or near the sea. If you’re after comfort and privacy, opt for a villa with a view. And for a warm local connection, guesthouses offer some of the most meaningful stays on the island.

Just be sure to double-check whether your accommodation has air conditioning if you need it, as many places offer fan-only rooms at a lower price. But no matter where you stay, you’ll find warm, attentive hosts (or a thoughtful team) ready to help with anything you need throughout your time on Koh Yao Noi.

FAQs About Koh Yao Noi Hotels & Resorts

Which side of Koh Yao Noi should I stay on?

You should stay on the east coast of Koh Yao Noi if you want easy access to the island’s best beaches and most of the tourist infrastructure, and the west coast if you want a quieter, more local experience. Either way, Koh Yao Noi is a small island, so no matter where you stay, you’ll never be more than 15 – 20 minutes from where you want to go.

Where to stay in Koh Yao Noi?

For an affordable bungalow in Koh Yao Noi, I recommend Namtok. For mid-range options, consider either Hillhouse or Rimlay Bay View, and for a classic beach-style hotel, opt for Cape Kudu. In terms of resorts, spring for Koyao Island Resort or Six Senses. Koh Yao Bay Pavilions and Samsam Adaman have really nice villas, too.

How many days should I stay in Koh Yao Noi?

Koh Yao Noi can easily be seen in a day or two, but part of the island’s charm is the slow lifestyle. Plus, when you see your bungalow, villa, or resort, you probably won’t want to leave. I recommend being flexible with your timeline if possible, in case you end up wanting a couple of extra days to enjoy paradise.
